A FALL FROM GRACE

Galatians 5:4 For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God —not by works so that no one can boast. After our salvation, most of us fall into the error of wanting to help ourselves to be right with God. If Grace reached you while you were still a sinner how much more now that you are saved? Grace is not just the entry point to your salvation. Grace is the life we live in Christ. We enter through Grace, we live by Grace and we will exit by God's Grace.

John 1:15-17 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. This is the testimony of John about Jesus Christ, he makes a public proclamation about the ministry of Jesus Christ and distinguishes it from the ministry of Moses. He said Moses came with the law but Jesus Christ has brought the ministry of Grace. And he emphasized Grace "Grace for Grace". It is not a mixed reaction. In Christ Jesus, we cannot have Grace and law. In Christ, we can only have Grace and truth. You fall from Grace when you are in Christ Jesus and still want to go after the dictates of the law which condemns us with sin and death.

Romans 8:1-2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Falling from grace is a dangerous thing and Hebrews highlights the severity of it. Hebrews 6:4-6 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,  who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Don't fall from Grace stay in Grace and grow Grace. 2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. Learn about Christ Jesus and you will abound in Grace.

Prayer: Holy Spirit teach me about Jesus Christ and grant me understanding to learn from Him that I may be full of Grace and not fall from Grace in Jesus' name. Amen
