CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH

Daniel 6:10 But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.

What Daniel did was not arrogance, show off or rebellion. What he did is call contending for the Faith. Someone may ask was that the only way Daniel could have prayed for God to him? He could have shut the windows and prayed secretly, and God would have heard him anyway, but that prayer would be said in fear, not faith, and without faith, it is impossible to please the Lord. Beloved, being secretive and conventional about your faith in Christ is a sign of your lack of understanding of what is the hope of your calling. Our faith demands that we suffer losses and reject some things. Daniel and His were ever ready to go into the burning furnace for their faith. What have you suffered, lost, rejected because you are a believer?

If you take an introspective look into your life and you can't count any, then my dear you may not be living the faith. Any child of God who is ok and comfortable with the world's system is a suspect. Beloved in our walk with God, we don't lower the bar for anyone or anything. The bar is always high because it is always above. Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
You, too, must endure something to enter the Kingdom of God. Contend for the faith.

Prayer: Holy Spirit give me the boldness I need in the face of adversity and persecution to stand and to contend for the faith to the very end that I may obtain the crown in Jesus' name. Amen!
